The league season finally wraps up as playoff spots are still up for grabs!
América still want to get in the postseason, and to do so they'll have to travel to Ciudad Universitaria and beat the league-leading UNAM Pumas squad that has been nearly unbeatable at home.

Chivas de Guadalajara face their fixture knowing they need to win to get in. Monterrey will come back from Salt Lake City crowned as CONCACAF Champions, and will likely try to better their spot in the standings going towards the playoffs.

Cruz Azul will face off against San Luis as visitors, in a stadium that has been traditionally difficult for them. Five spots are still up for grabs, who will take them? Find out on LSTV!

Estudiantes Tecos will try and play spoiler to Santos Laguna, who need to win and get some help from other teams in order to get in to the playoffs due to their somewhat complicated standing within the league's eighteen teams.

Santos Laguna midfielder -and former Estudiantes Tecos player- Rodrigo Ruiz might play his final match as a professional this weekend, as the 37-year-old prepares to bid the pitch adieu after a long career that mostly played out within Mexican borders.

Ruiz also represented the Chilean national team on many occasions, becoming one of the most capped players in Mexican league history as a foreign-born player. He has since adopted the nationality. It could also be a swan song for several Santos players, including Daniel Ludueña, who is being courted by América.

Oribe Peralta will attempt to make his National Team call-up seem well deserved, as the striker will pair up next to Christian Benitez in the home team's front line. Estudiantes Tecos are eliminated from postseason play.

Ricardo Ferretti's Tigres march on to La Liguilla in a posh spot, carrying their second place status into the quarterfinals against what will surely be a weaker rival.

Atlas could be that rival, if they beat the Tigres and cement their passage into the postseason for the Clausura 2011 season. A win for them will do just that, as Atlas need the three-pointer in order to make the final stage and get out of a tough Group 2 that has five teams trying for two spots.

This could be the goodbye for Edgar Pacheco in an Atlas uniform, as the midfielder has been slapped with a "For Sale" sign that has now received a concrete offer from Pachuca in the range of 3.5 million dollars.

Atlas have recently surpassed the 60-year-mark since their last championship.

Pachuca and Necaxa square off in the Estadio Hidalgo in a match that has absolutely no implications for either, as Pachuca are eliminated from the postseason due to their horrendous start to the season and Necaxa sealing their fate by not avoiding relegation a couple of weeks back.

Americans Herculez Gomez and Jose Francisco Torres look to see action in this match, while Necaxa will most likely trot out their starters to attempt to bid the First Division adieu with a positive result.

Efrain Flores, Pachuca manager, will be looking to bolster his team's squad with a few summer signings, while Sergio Bueno is unsure of whether he'll have a job with the team next semester, as Necaxa return to the Second Division after a one-year absence.

Guadalajara needs three points to assure qualification into the Clausura 2011 liguilla, and they will face the new CONCACAF Champions Monterrey after their big 1-0 victory at the Rio Tinto Stadium as enough to catapult them into the World Club Championship.

Although fatigue might play a factor for Chivas and against Monterrey, the Guadalajara side have been historically unable to beat the Rayados. The Victor Manuel Vucetich coached side will arrive at the Estadio Omnilife looking to wrap up three points that will give them better positioning within the quarterfinal pairings and thus avoid a more difficult rival.

Chivas will look to make only its second postseason appearance since 2007.

Erick Torres and Marco Fabian will battle it out to see if one can edge the other out for the team's highest scorer award. Torres and Fabian each have six goals despite not being present for all of the team's matches.

San Luis and Cruz Azul will duke it out to close the Clausura 2011 season, with the Blues attempting to win and get in against a San Luis team that looks to close out the season with a win that will help it going forward towards the 2011-12 relegation table.

The home team will be without Christian Sánchez, Luis Omar Hernández and Ignacio Torres due to suspension. Othoniel Arce will be away as well due to his injury.

Cruz Azul will be missing defender Horacio Cervantes due to his suspension. Gerardo Torres, Hugo Droguett and Alejandro Vela are not available due to injury.

With 24 points, Cruz Azul could make the playoffs without winning, but they wouldn't be assured a spot in the postseason unless they beat San Luis.

Newly selected to the Mexican National Team, Christian Bermudez and his Potros del Atlante will be facing a hungry Toluca squad for a playoff spot in the Clausura 2011 postseason.

Luis Angel Landin will be out to injury, missing the season ending clash - while Fernando Navarro and Miguel Herrera are suspended and won't be able to play or be on the sidelines for the home team.

Toluca could haul themselves into the postseason mix with a win that will be difficult to obtain at the Andres Quintana Roo, but they will have Ecuadorian striker Jaime Ayovi back in action for this clash.

No doubt a boon for the team that is already a goal-scoring machine, as they put four up on the scoreboard last week against Estudiantes Tecos.

Finally, Pumas and América close out the weekend and the season by squaring off in Ciudad Universitaria, as América try to desperately get into the final eight of the Clausura 2011.

Leandro Augusto and Efrain Velarde will be missing in action for the home team, who are tops in the tournament and will face the eighth seeded team during the quarterfinals.

America are coming off a 1-0 Copa Libertadores loss in the Round of 16 that still gives them a chance to go through to the quarterfinals of that competition.

Despite that ray of hope, América still want to go for their double and conquer the league as well. If América win, they will most likely finish seventh or eighth, and by doing so, might face UNAM Pumas once again.

Morelia's third place status comes into play this weekend as they face a Puebla team desperate for points as they start to worry about the 2011-12 relegation race.

Adrian Aldrete is injured for the match and will be unable to participate. Puebla drew against Monterrey last weekend and thus saved themselves from losing all of their matches as visitors in the current campaign.

If they lose, Morelia could drop all the way down to fifth assuming Cruz Azul and Chivas win their matches on Saturday and push up towards the top of the table.

They don't have a chance of climbing up the table, as Tigres are four points up.
