The return of Kaka and Robinho in the Selecão has spiced up the Superclásico de las Americas taking place this Saturday at the Bird’s Nest stadium in China. Obviously, the other big attraction ahead of this super clash is Lionel Messi, who has reunited with ex-Barcelona manager Tata Martino.
“Messi and I have talked about this game a lot,” captain Neymar revealed. “We argued who would win. I told him that it's okay if he scores, as long as we win.”
The four-time Ballon d'Or winner came short of lifting the FIFA World Cup on Brazilian soil, earlier in summer. The Albiceleste's new target is the Copa America and Saturday's friendly match may be full of thrills. However, Brazil's modest coach, Dunga, has other opinions.
“Don't expect an open game [on Saturday], with defenders attacking and forgetting to mark their players as in the World Cup,” the Brazil boss warned on Friday.
“If I wanted to please you [press], I'd tell you tomorrow will be an open game. The reality is that both teams will be organized.
“We will attack when we have the ball, and defend when we don't have it. This is the right combination. This is modern football.
“The game will be very tight, competitive. It will be a different game from what you're usually accustomed to.”
According to the September 2014 release of FIFA’s World Ranking, the Argentines are currently the second best football nation behind world champions Germany and above sixth-placed Brazil. As part of the hype of the Superclásico de las Americas, Neymar couldn’t help but declare during Friday's pre-match press conference:
“I do not know if Argentina are ahead of us at this moment, but if so, then I hope we surprise everyone tomorrow and beat them!”
