Viaplay Group has secured exclusive rights to the UEFA Champions League in Denmark and Sweden for the 2024-2027 cycle. This is part of a major deal struck with UEFA for Europe’s top club competitions covering the Nordic region. In Iceland, Viaplay may share coverage with local broadcaster Sýn. The agreement includes over 200 UEFA Champions League games annually, available to stream online via Viaplay’s direct-to-consumer OTT service and partnerships with major telco and TV operators in Nordic countries.

Viaplay Group holds exclusive UEFA Europa League rights from 2024/2025 to 2026/2027 in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. The rights also extend to Iceland in non-exclusive terms, as Viaplay’s Europa League coverage is shared with local TV network Sýn. Live UEFA Europa League streaming on Viaplay is available across multiple devices via its apps and several TV partners’ platforms, amounting to hundreds of live matches yearly.

Viaplay Group has acquired exclusive UEFA Conference League rights in Nordic countries for the 2024-2027 cycle. The broadcast deal covers Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Finland. Viaplay’s pay-TV networks, widely distributed in territories where it operates, are set to air every game live, with streaming available online and on mobile devices.

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has acquired multi-platform English Premier League rights in Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, in a deal that runs from 2022 to 2028. Live EPL streaming will be available on Viaplay – the leading online video streaming service in the Nordic region. Live Premier League matches and full replays may also be aired on NENT’s pay-TV and free-TV channels.

The deal marks the first broadcast rights agreement for the Premier League’s cycle starting with the 2022-2023 season, and it also marks the first time a European broadcaster has secured EPL rights for a six-year period.

Germany - Bundesliga

NENT Group has retained its Bundesliga rights in the Nordic region until 2025. The broadcast deal extension will see the pan-Nordic broadcaster air over 300 live German Bundesliga matches on its streaming service Viaplay, every season. Many of these Bundesliga games will also be aired live on NENT Group’s linear television networks.

At least one Bundesliga match will be shown in Ultra HD format every match week. The agreement also includes pan-Nordic media rights to the German Super Cup, 2. Bundesliga and the Bundesliga relegation playoffs. Additional programming will include expert studio analysis in local languages, and match highlights.

Bundesliga matches over the course of the next four years via Viaplay’s high-def OTT’s live-streaming service, with game-day comments, key match highlights, and analysis all provided in Danish.

Scotland - Scottish Championship

NENT Group has secured Nordic media rights to the Scottish Championship following a deal with the Scottish Professional Football League that will run for five years, from 2020 to 2025. NENT Group’s package includes 35 matches from the Scottish second-tier division along with the Scottish League Cup, and coverage will be available on OTT service Viaplay in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.

Nordic Entertainment Group (NENT Group) has extended its Nordic media rights for the Scottish Premiership in a five-year deal that will run through 2025. NENT Group’s OTT streaming service Viaplay will show 48 matches live from the Premiership every season in Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, and Sweden.

V Sport Extra is a Swedish television channel owned and operated by the Nordic Entertainment Group. It was launched in 2016 as a High-Definition option to TV3 Sport, a sister channel that frequently airs content in Standard Definition. V Sport Extra is part of the V Sport network.
