About TV Nova
TV Nova is a Czech television channel owned and operated by TV Nova, R.o. The channel was launched on February 4, 1994, becoming the first private television station in the country. TV Nova has been frequently referred to as the most popular TV channel in the Czech Republic.
Over the years, TV Nova has been labeled as a general entertainment channel, with news, magazine programs, talk shows, music programs, documentaries, soap operas, children’s programming, sitcoms, and cooking shows have occupied most of the station’s airtime. While all the content aired on this channel is available in Czech language, not all the shows have been produced within the country.
Speaking about sports, updates may be provided on this channel via the news broadcasts aired daily. Broadcast of live sports events by this company has been handed exclusively to its sister channels, Nova Sport 1 and Nova Sport 2.
TV Nova was launched as a Standard Definition channel, but a High-Definition feed was developed and eventually launched in October 2008. Both feeds might still be available in certain regions of the country.
