About
TNT Sports 5 History, Coverage, Features
BT Sport Extra is part of the BT Group, a multi-platform network of sports channel launched in 2013. This interactive service was launched on September 1, 2014, in an effort to provide more online content when there is more than one event taking place. This service streams its content in HD since its launch.
BT Sport Extra is part of BT Sport Live, the company’s online streaming service. Its purpose is to help with the streaming overflow during specific times, which may require more than one stream available to watch live games taking place. BT Sport Extra’s streaming coverage began with only one stream, but its capabilities were expanded to seven streams in August 2015. In the past, BT Sport Extra has come in handy to watch an entire UEFA Champions League matchday, especially when there are up to eight games taking place during the Group Stage of the competition.
BT Sport Extra’s use is not only limited to football since other sports for which the company has broadcasting rights can also be streamed on this service.
Added to the regular access granted by BT Sport Live, BT Sport Extra can also be accessed via online streaming services from pay-tv carriers. Check the availability of this service with the cable or satellite TV company of your election.
