The second month of the Premier League season has already started, and things regarding audience numbers in the United States have not changed a bit. The English top-flight continues to gather a large amount of followers in this country, and not even some of the most winning teams in Europe have been able to challenge its dominance.
This time, eight different Premier League matches were among the most viewed in the country, with the clash between Aston Villa and Manchester City gathering over one million average viewers. It is the highest number of viewers a single game has accomplished since the beginning of the season.
The second spot in this ranking goes to Manchester United and Arsenal, who delivered one of the most exciting games of the week this past Sunday. The Red Devils ended Arsenal's unbeaten run, and over 850,000 average viewers witnessed Erik Ten Hag's men doing so.
The podium was completed with a Major Leagu Soccer clash, where Portland Timbers claimed a key win against Atlanta in the playoff race. The winning side seems to keep their playoff hopes alive, but Atlanta United seem to have been eliminated from the final round with this defeat.
Let us have a look at the numbers last week brought us in terms of football games.
