Real Madrid know that Karim Benzema's best moments every season have come when they matter the most, but how his rivals fail to hold him back will remain a mystery, at least in this season, apparently.
The French ace gave Los Blancos the lead over Chelsea with a tap-in after a volley by Vinicius, which Kepa was not able to hold on to. Benzema's goal only extended his reputation as a reliable scorer in the continental tournament. This was the fourth goal for Real Madrid's No.9 in the competition in his seventh app, making him level with some of the players that have already exited the competition, such as Lionel Messi or Darwin Núñez.
To make things even more relevant for the striker, the French footballer once again dominated a team from the Premier League, which has been quite frequent in recent matches, as the following numbers will show.
