Bolton Wanderers captain Kevin Davies saluted the Bolton fans who travelled all the way to St. Andrews as they booked a place in the semi final after beating Birmingham 3-2.
Lee Chung-Yong was the hero for Bolton as he popped up with a late winner to seal the victory for Bolton Wanderers as they kept their FA Cup hopes alive. Bolton took the lead twice in the game, only to see Birmingham bounce back on each occasion. However, Lee Chung-Yong's goal proved to be the end of the road for the recently crowned Carling Cup champions.

Despite having to face disappointments of losing the lead twice, Kevin Davies rallied his teammates and he also admitted that the fans played a major part in their amazing victory.

He told ESPN: "The fans were absolutely amazing today and they kept us going all the way. I'm proud to be part of Bolton Wanderers."

Davies- who has previously tried his luck in the FA Cup with Chesterfield back in 1997, only to falter in semi final admitted that it was always a dream for him to lift the coveted FA Cup trophy.

"It's been an unlucky trophy for me at times, but as captain of this club I just wanted it so badly. It's brilliant and we'll celebrate tonight.

"All our substitutes made an impact for us today, and now we're going to Wembley."

Bolton Wanderers manager Owen Coyle also hailed the spirits of his players after seeing them beat a very resilient Birmingham side.

"It was two teams that were very positive and trying to win the game at the first time of asking,'' he told ESPN.

"I thought we had to take care of the ball a bit better and we did that when Mark and Lee came on. Sometimes the substitutes benefit from all the hard work that went before them.

"Our fans were outstanding today and that's what made it a great cup tie.''
