With Napoli stumbling in a surprise loss to relegation threatened Empoli, Juventus have now surged 18 points clear at the top of the Serie A table thanks to their 2-0 win over Cagliari. The victory for the Bianconeri wasn't without controversy, however, as young striker Moise Kean, who has enjoyed a hot spell in front of goal for both club and country lately, was subjected to vile racist abuse from some sections of the Cagliari support throughout the duration of the match.
The reigning Serie A champions were missing quite a few key players for that clash, including star man Cristiano Ronaldo, and he's expected to sit this upcoming match out as well as Massimiliano Allegri hopes to have him back fit for the team's Champions League tie against Ajax later this month. With Juventus surprisingly knocked out of the Coppa Italia earlier this season by Atalanta, and the Scudetto already wrapped up, the Champions League clearly has become that much more important for the Turin giants, and they certainly will want to have their pricey signing firing fit as they aim to end their long wait to get their hands on the coveted prize this June.
Juventus did suffer a shock loss to Genoa recently, but are still unbeaten on home turf. They will be taking on familiar foes Milan, who have been in a rut as of late. The Rossoneri come into this game having drawn Udinese 1-1, and prior to that, lost to Inter in the Derby della Madonnina and were narrowly defeated by Sampdoria. Although they are still hanging on to fourth spot, Gennaro Gattuso nonetheless will hope to see some kind of improvement from his squad over the next few rounds as there are four sides - Atalanta, Lazio, Roma, and Torino - who now have managed to sneak up on them and are just four points behind them with less than ten games remaining in the season.
