Manchester United winger Alexis Sanchez remains a major doubt for Sunday's epic clash against Tottenham Hotspur as he was not spotted among the squad that travelled to London on Saturday. The Chilean attacker was handed his first starting role under new interim boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in last weekend's FA Cup game against Reading but was subsequently substituted after sustaining a hamstring injury.
Apparently, the former Arsenal star has not recovered in time and, as a result, is not expected to feature in the upcoming encounter. According to Manchester Evening News, Chris Smalling, Eric Bailly, Antonio Valencia, Matteo Darmian and Marouane Fellaini were not sighted among the traveling party.
However, Paul Pogba, who missed the game against Reading after picking up a knock in Manchester United's previous encounter with Newcastle was spotted. Following the arrival of Solskjaer, the Frenchman has experienced an upsurge in form, scoring four goals and registering three assists in four appearances.
The new manager confirmed that the former Juventus man will be available to feature against Spurs despite initially posing as a doubt.
"He looked okay towards the end there (Manchester United's warm weather training camp in Dubai), so he'll be fit.
"He did have some problems but he came through the last couple of sessions well, so he should be okay."
As per MEN, here is the full Manchester United squad spotted heading to London on Saturday.
Goalkeepers: De Gea, Romero, Grant
Defenders: Lindelof, Jones, Young, Dalot, Shaw
Midfielders: Pereira, Mata, Matic, Pogba, Fred, Herrera, McTominay, Lingard, Garner
Forwards: Martial, Rashford, Lukaku
