However, it won’t be down to a drop in form – he showed towards the end of the season that he can rip apart even the best teams. A Bola writes that his desire for an exit is solely due to the tax fraud allegations.
A formal lawsuit was brought against the 32-year-old on Tuesday, being accused of defrauding the Spanish government of €14.7m. Cristiano and his representatives denied any wrongdoing, but the player is upset by the accusation and thus wishes to leave the country.
