Chelsea’s disastrous 2015/16 campaign has seen the fallen English Premier League giants struggling to cope with rumors of players wanting out of Stamford Bridge.
Star midfielder Eden Hazard, whose season has been as atrocious as his employer’s, has been linked with a Real Madrid switch on several occasions, with striker Diego Costa even being linked with an Atletico Madrid return at one point.
Now the Blues have to deal with speculation regarding the exit of yet another one of their key players, as goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois refused to commit to the London giants when asked about his future whilst on international duty with Belgium.
The 23-year-old – winning the Copa del Rey, then La Liga, followed by a League and Cup double in England in three consecutive seasons – admits that the current (trophy-less) season with Chelsea has left a mark on him.
“I do not say yes, I do not say no. I do not know: I still have three years on my contract. We must see what Chelsea want. It is true that it [this season] has changed me. Until now I had always won a trophy every season. We hope that next season will be better," said the 23-year-old, as per The Guardian.
The London giants boast a fine backup shot-stopper in Asmir Begovic; however, with Antonio Conte all but destined to take over the club for next season once Guus Hiddinks hands over the reins, the Italian will be hoping to retain the services of Chelsea’s first-choice keeper.
