On Monday, English Premier League giants Manchester City confirmed the inevitable: Pep Guardiola will take charge at the Etihad next season.
The Spanish tactician had revealed his desire to move to England, as he revealed this would be his last season with Bayern Munich, as the Citizens were tipped as favorites to land the former Barca boss.
Unfortunately for Man United fans wishing to see Louis Van Gaal replaced, one ideal candidate is off the tables for the fallen Premier League giants, though former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho remains as an ideal option.
If Mourinho does end up at United then next season is going to be mad.

Just need Man United to hire Mourinho now and we will have amazing manager battle next season. Pep vs Klopp vs Wenger vs Mourinho vs Billic.

Such is the corner Manchester United are backed into, Jose Mourinho appointment likely only way to compete with City head on next yr.

I’d be stunned if Manchester United don’t get Mourinho in. Only man to beat Guardiola over a season, could fall far behind without him #mufc

The only manager to ever get the better of Guardiola was Mourinho, obvious what needs to be done by Woodward #MUFC

#mufc left behind again. Missed out on Guardiola twice. Ignored Mourinho twice. And overlooked Klopp when he was available. Cash over glory.

#Guardiola to City is done and official. Now we need #Mourinho at Manchester United.

Guardiola to City... FML. Can we get Mourinho in NOW?! Only manager, bar from Ancellotti, who would stand a chance against him.

There is only one man who can take Pep on head to head in Manchester. United must get Mourinho.

The Special One was at Wembley as Gianni Infantino announced his candidacy for the upcoming FIFA presidential elections, and was drilled by a reporter over rumors linking him with the Old Trafford managerial position.
“Hello, Jose,” said Paul Kelso of Sky news. “Jose, now [that] Pep is going to Manchester City, [do] you fancy the United job?”
The Special One, however, dodged the question entirely, not stopping once to give it any thought, as he continued walking whilst shaking his head.
Watch it all unfold in the video below.

Fans of the 20-time English Premier League champions are eager to see Van Gaal vacate his role as first-team manager due to several poor performances, as reports continue to link the Dutchman to be sacked.
Jose was in-line to become Man United boss when Sir Alex Ferguson announced his decision to step down, before the Portuguese manager headed for Stamford Bridge and David Moyes was named instead.
However, now that the 55-year-old is out of work, he is eligible to make the move to the Theatre of Dreams.
