Warner used to be the president of CONCACAF from 1990 to 2011. He was involved in bidding contest for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

Former soccer executive Jack Warner has been banned for life from all soccer-related activity for the rest of his life. The decision was made by FIFA's Ethics Committee as there is an ongoing investigation regarding a bidding contest for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups.

Warner had been serving as the president of CONCACAF from 1990 to 2011. For some time, he was the vice president of FIFA but decided to quit in 2011 when there were some  accusations of bribery relating to a presidential election against him.

"The adjudicatory chamber of the ethics committee, chaired by Hans-Joachim Eckert, has decided to ban the former FIFA vice-president and executive committee member, as well as CONCACAF president, Mr Jack Warner from taking part in any kind of football-related activity at national and international level for life.

The 72-year old man from Trinidad is currently living at home but can't leave the country as the police has seized his passport. Warner also has to visit a police station twice a week.

"(Warner) committed many and various acts of misconduct continuously and repeatedly during his time as an official in different high-ranking and influential positions at FIFA and CONCACAF," was read in a statement released by FIFA.

It was Dr Cornel Borbely, who took over the chairmanship from his predecessor, who started this investigation in the first month of 2015. He had taken his new position by the very end of 2014. There are plenty of charges that Mr. Warner has been found guilty off.

"He was found guilty of violations of art. 13 [General rules of conduct], art. 15 [Loyalty], art. 18 [Duty of disclosure, cooperation and reporting], art. 19 [Conflicts of interest], art. 20 [Offering and accepting gifts and other benefits] and art. 41 [Obligation of the parties to collaborate] of the FIFA Code of Ethics.

The ban has been made effective since September 25, 2015. At the same time, Warner is fighting charges to be extradited to the United States due to racketeering, wire fraud and money laundering.
