After their Champions League humiliation, Roma will now attempt to regroup as they take on Sampdoria on the road on Saturday, October 25th.

On Tuesday, Roma fans soon realized how Brazil supporters must have felt at this summer's World Cup. The Giallorossi, just like the Seleção were subject to a 7-1 humiliation at the hands of German opposition who, in both cases, scored five in the first half before finishing their route with two more in the second period. While the result still leaves Rudi Garcia's men in second place in their group, they will now have to quickly re-gather focus and turn their attention to league action as they take on Sampdoria.

Meanwhile, the Blucerchiati have surprised many by joining Juventus as the only unbeaten side remaining in Serie A. Four clean sheets out of seven so far are quite impressive, but given that their visitors have the one of the strongest attacks in the league with 14 goals, they will obviously face a much tougher task than prior opponents such as Atalanta or Genoa.

However, one things that Sinisa Mihajlovic's team do have going for them is an interesting stat that despite having only won 39 out of their prior 128 meetings with Roma, the Lupi are the team that they have been able to get the most wins against. Still, it is important to note that the last few meetings have been evenly split, with Roma winning three, Sampdoria, three, and three ending in draws.

Garcia is refusing to of course, allow the team's crushing loss to the Bundesliga outfit weigh too much on him and his men, as he noted in a pre-match press conference:

"We have analyzed Tuesday's match and now we have quickly turned our attention to the [upcoming] one against Sampdoria. The loss to Bayern will not nullify everything we have done so far, [including] six wins out of seven in the league and a good start in the Champions League."

However, the French tactician did acknowledge the potentially tricky test his troops could face:

"[Although] I don't know what kind of approach Sampdoria will take, I know that Mihajlovic has done well at home and [while] it will be tough to beat them, we'll give it our all."
