This three-year contract indicates the first time the public broadcaster has acquired exclusive linear and digital Turkish rights to the Champions League. TRT’s deal also includes TV broadcast and live streaming coverage of the UEFA Europa League, the UEFA Europa Conference League, the UEFA Super Cup, and the UEFA Youth League. It marks a significant shift from the 2021 to 2024 media rights cycle, during which linear and digital rights were split between free-to-air TV channel TV8 and subscription streaming service Exxen.

As per its deal with UEFA, TRT broadcasts all Champions League games involving Turkish teams live on TRT 1 and TRT Spor. Meanwhile, live streaming of most other matches is available on TRT’s new digital platform, Tabii. The addition of Tabii to TRT’s offerings ensures that viewers can stream live Champions League matches on multiple devices, including mobiles, smart TVs, tablets, and computers. Viewers in Turkey can also watch bonus content, both live and on-demand, through TRT’s linear and digital platforms, including pre- and post-match analysis, Champions League highlights, and magazine shows.
Turkish Radio and Television (TRT) has secured free-to-air broadcast UEFA Europa League rights in Turkey from 2024 to 2027 following a three-year deal. The public broadcaster has exclusive digital and linear broadcast rights to all UEFA competitions. This marks a significant shift from previous media cycles during which rights to the Europa League were held by free-to-air TV channel TV8 and subscription streaming service Exxen.

Matches featuring Turkish clubs are broadcast on TRT’s linear channels (TRT 1 and TRT Spor). In addition, fans can stream most other games both live and on-demand via TRT’s streaming platform Tabii, which is compatible with mobiles, tablets, computers, and smart TVs.
TRT has secured exclusive broadcasting rights for the UEFA Conference League in Turkey for the 2024-25, 2025-26, and 2026-27 seasons. This agreement means fans in Turkey can watch live UEFA Conference League matches featuring Turkish clubs for free on the linear TRT 1 and TRT Spor channels. Live games involving other UEFA-member clubs can be streamed on TRT’s subscription-based platform, Tabii.
Football fans in Turkey can watch live Women's Champions League matches through the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT) until the end of the 2029-30 season. The deal to bring live Women's Champions League football to free-to-air television in Turkey was brokered by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU), of which TRT is a long-standing member.

About

TRT 1 history, coverage, features

TRT 1 is a state-owned television channel from Turkey. It was the first television channel to see the light in that country on January 31, 1968 as Ankara Television, and after a few rebrandings, it settled to TRT 1 in 1993.

The channel has been categorized as a general entertainment channel. Some of the topics covered by the channel have included news, current affairs, movies, music shows, local tv series, foreign tv series, sports, and more. Special events have also been aired on this channel from time to time.

Speaking about sports, the channel has made a name for itself with its coverage of European tournaments. The channel has aired games for the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, and the UEFA Super Cup. Club tournaments covered by this channel have also included the Turkish Super Lig and the Turkish First Division. Added to that, national team tournaments such as the FIFA World Cup, the UEFA Nations League, and the UEFA Euro have also been aired on this channel.

TRT 1 started broadcasting content in analog television, which would later evolve to Standard Definition TV. Then, the network unveiled a High-Definition feed on May 19, 2012. The HD feed for this channel has now relegated the Standard Definition option, giving users a chance to watch TRT 1 also on a downscaled version of the HD feed. Added to its availability in Turkey, TRT 1 may also be seen in neighboring countries such as Azerbaijan.
