Real Madrid take on Lyon tonight and Live Soccer TV reminds you of the last 3 Olympique Lyon vs Real Madrid matches through video highlights. Remarkably, the French come well on top of Los Blancos.

Olympique Lyon have the edge over Real Madrid at the Stade de Gerland in the UEFA Champions League.Real Madrid have never beaten Olympique Lyon despite meeting the French side six times in total. Los Blancos’ miserable head-to-head history against “the Kids” has been emphasized by poor defensive statistics. Lyon have actually scored 10 goals against Madrid to clinch an overall 10-4 record.

This has been possible for the French team because of their robust achievements against the Spanish giants at the Stade de Gerland in the UEFA Champions League. They’ve hosted Real Madrid 3 times and they’ve defeated them 3 times as well. The irony, however, is that the gap between Olympique Lyon and Los Blancos decreases little by little.

The Kids triumphed 3-0 over Real Madrid in 2005 before winning 2-0 in 2006 and only 1-0 most recently. Live Soccer TV takes you back to what happened in the past Olympique Lyon vs Real Madrid UEFA Champions League matches through video highlights.

September 14, 2005: Lyon 3-0 Real Madrid

A bit more than half a decade ago, Real Madrid had to visit the Stade de Gerland in France to kick off their 2005/2006 UEFA Champions League campaign against Olympique Lyon. Both teams were paired in the same section – Group F, which also included Rosenborg from Norway and Olympiakos from Greece.

Los Blancos were under pressure to kick-off their Champions League campaign on a good note, but they emphatically failed to do so as they lost 3-0 to Lyon. John Carew, Juninho and Wiltord found the net in a space of 10 minutes in the first period to wound the Spanish giants who couldn’t reply with goals at the other end of the pitch.

September 13, 2006: Lyon 2-0 Real Madrid

Real Madrid had the opportunity to take revenge on Olympique Lyon almost exactly one year later. Coincidentally, both teams were drawn in the same UEFA Champions League group for yet another time. That season, like it had happened during the previous one, Real Madrid once again finished as runners-up behind Olympique Lyon.
