After the draw with Getafe, Tata Martino commented with harsh words the result. Despite the fact that the tie with Getafe still leaves some hope for Barcelona to win the title-race, the Argentinian manager sounded defeated.

Barca’s manager stated: “We’ve already given everything we had to give in the League, […]we wanted to have given more, but if we have been unable to win today then we didn’t deserve to reach the final day with more options."

Martino’s comments affected Barca’s players as well. As the manager, he sets the tone, and if the tone is one of defeat, the players will react accordingly.

After the match, Busquets said: “I guess the Liga is over for us now.” Moreover, Xavi added: “We didn't live up to the expectations this season. We have to be self-critical and start all over next season.” 

However, those comments were made before Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid dropped points. One can assume that the mood in Barca's locker-room changed substantially after both Madrid's teams could not capitalize. The game against Elche will answer any doubt still looming over the Catalans.
