Gignac had a chance to make France the champions of Europe in regular time but the posts could not allow him.

André-Pierre Christian Gignac missed a glorious chance to put hosts France in front in the finals of the European Championship played on Sunday at Stade de France.The 30-year-old forward has beaten Portugal's defence and goalkeeper but his shot was stopped by the posts as the match headed into extra-time.

The hosts would blame themselves for taking the match to extra-time despite the absence of key forward for Portugal, Cristiano Ronaldo. The Portugal captain was substituted early in the first half after colliding with Dimitri Payet. Here is that missed chance by Gignac that everyone is talking about:
