The champions-elect of England is set to take on a struggling Sunderland side in the Barclays Premier League.

Team News

Steven Fletcher, former United star Wes Brown and Lee Cattermole are all out for the Black Cats. Fletcher is not just out of this game; he is out for the entire season. Carlos Cueller, David Vaughan and Stephane Sessegnon are all doubtful. Darren Fletcher, Phil Jones and Paul Scholes are all out for Manchester United. Nani has returned to training; however, he is still rated doubtful.

Analysis

On the pitch, they have not always produced the best football. They have definitely been lucky at times. However, Manchester United is trotting to the title this season. They have dropped points in only five games up to this point this season. Considering they are out of the race for the biggest trophy in European football, they will want to wrap this one in style.

England’s record Premier League champions are definitely on the right track, having won all their previous six games in the league. In Sunderland, they have an unsettled opponent. The Black Cats have lost four of their previous six league games, drawing the other two. United should win this one. Sir Alex Ferguson might field less of his regulars as he has to keep an eye on a vital FA Cup clash against Chelsea.
