Third placed Chelsea has only picked up four points from their last six games and will hope to win against Sunderland.

Team News

Wes Brown and Lee Cattermole are out with injuries while John O’Shea and Darren Fletcher are doubtful for Sunderland. John Terry and Daniel Sturridge are out injured for Chelsea. Frank Lampard might return for this one as an option off the bench. David Luiz returns from suspension. John Obi Mikel has been handed a three match suspension due to the incident involving Mark Clattenberg against Manchester United.

Analysis

Chelsea’s exit from the Champions League in midweek was embarrassing to say the least. They became the first defending champions to exit the competition so early. Chelsea’s focus will now definitely shift to the Premier League. They have been poor in recent match-days and will look to turn draws into wins. They lost to West Ham last week.

Chelsea knows that to stay in touch with the Manchester sides, it is a must to win every weekend. They have a good squad and will look to be almost as adventurous against Sunderland as they were against Nordsjaelland in the Champions League. Sunderland has also collected only four points from their last six matches and might end up rolling over for Chelsea if the Blues play expansive football.
