A few costly defeats have sparked a crisis at Arsenal. Answers have been demanded from Arsene Wenger, whilst questions over his future at the club persist.
A string of players have been linked with exits from the Emirates Stadium, with Alexis Sanchez being the most high-profile player of the list. Another Arsenal attacker has joined the list of wantaway stars, and he appears destined to leave in the summer.
That man is Lucas Perez, the low profile summer signing that fans were optimistic about given his work rate and impressive numbers last season. Since joined the north London outfit, he has contributed to 11 goals – scored six and assisted five.
However, the £17m Spaniard has found chances hard to come by under Wenger, as he has only been handed eight starts by the French tactician. This is despite the fact that several members of Arsenal’s attack have disappointed this campaign – Alexis being the only exemption.
As a result, the player’s agent – Rodrigo Fernandez – has told calciomercato.com that his client will seek a route out of the Gunners once this season ends. Although the 28-year-old striker is yet to receive offers, his agent likened Lucas with a move to Serie A.
“He hasn’t received any offer yet,” Rodrigo Fernandez Llovelle said.
“If Lucas leaves London - and he will leave because he’s had no chance with [Arsene] Wenger - he wants to go and play for a big club like Arsenal.
“Milan is a great club and he likes them very much, even if we’ve never talked with the Rossoneri hierarchy.
“Look, the truth is that Lucas wants to leave at all costs and is not happy at Arsenal, he hasn’t settled and hasn’t had a chance to play and show what he can do.
“No matter who is the manager in the future, we want to go. The player must have the chance to play.”
