The Mexican club will also have to pay a 10,000 dollar fine. Team's executives have determined to play their next home game at the same venue, but without the presence of their fans.

Last Friday, after Monarcas Morelia lost to Pumas, members of one of their cheerleading groups stormed into the pitch, hurting security staff and violating security protocols for Liga MX. Today, after reviewing the surveillance tapes, Liga MX officers decided to ban Estadio Morelos for one game, imposing a fine on the club for 10,000 dollars.

Club officials have stated they will cooperate with authorities on bringing those that entered the pitch to justice. Meanwhile, the team decided their next home game will be held at their stadium, but without fans.

This is not the first time an incident like this has happened at Estadio Morelos. Three years ago, during a playoff game against Cruz Azul, a fan invaded the pitch and started an argument with Gerardo Torrado. The player's teammates tried to get the man off the pitch, but the intruder got into a fight with Christian Gimenez. The club received a warning after that episode, and now its security procedures have been exposed one more time.

Morelia is currently last in the Apertura 2014 tournament, having already fired their coach Angel David Comizzo.
