The Birinci Divizionu, also known as the First Division in English, is the second division league in Azerbaijan. Founded in 1992, the competition is run by the Association of Football Federations of Azerbaijan (AFFA). The champions earn automatic promotion to the Azerbaijan Premier League, the country’s top-flight championship.
