Juventus won at the Stadio Olimpico 1-0, though many felt the result was too harsh, especially considering Roma was denied a second yellow card for Chiellini’s elbow to Pjanic’s face and Osvaldo's goal was offside.
The hosts played well, probably better than the guests, but La Vecchia Signora walked away with 3 points. In added time Osvaldo scored to seal the win, though Tevez was clearly offside. As expected, the striker celebrated in front of his ex-supporters.
From Southampton, where he was suspended for attacking a teammate, to Roma, where he was king of the nightlife and court jester on the pitch, Pablo Daniel Osvaldo has always shown disrespect for etiquette and fair play. Thus, his celebration, especially in light of a very poor season, should shock nobody.
Definitely not a positive season for Pablo Osvaldo
Osvaldo has just scored for Juventus in the Europa League. Shame that he's a complete idiot. #Saintsfc

Dani Osvaldo has been awful since joining Southampton. Doesn't play for the team at all.

If there's one good thing to come out of yesterday's match, it's that Osvaldo is out of the Italy squad. No more awful Balotelli-Osvaldo

Osvaldo's penalty? Absolutely awful. #ASRoma

VIDEO: Chiellini, already on a yellow card, clearly elbows Pjanic in the face
For Roma this game was representative of the season. Garcia’s players had an extraordinary run with a record-breaking 10 wins in a row as a start of the season. It was not enough against Juventus seeking to beat Europe’s wall of 102 points this season.

The game today, as the Italy Cup semifinal in January, showed that there are not 14 points between Juventus and Roma. That differential could have been avoided had Banti disallowed Torino’s goal against Roma; or had Cariolato seen Llorente’s offside goal against Napoli; and many other instances that surely take nothing away from Juve’s spectacular season, but that created a safety-cushion for the Bianconeri that perhaps robbed us of an exciting season-finale.
