Manchester City's trip to Stamford Bridge hinted trouble, but no one knew to what extent. The Citizens have lost their unbeaten streak and they lost the top spot of the Premier League. Furthermore, this loss caused Pep Guardiola to have one of the few negative records in his career.
Guardiola's men saw their 15-game streak without a loss come to a conclusion thanks to an impressive defensive display by Sarri's crew. Manchester City dominated all the action, but it was Chelsea who took advantage of their first shot on goal...the only one they took during the first half.
1 - Chelsea's goal came from their first shot of the match in the 45th minute (44:02), the longest they have had to wait for a shot in a league game at Stamford Bridge since 2006-07. Unlikely. #CHEMCI pic.twitter.com/7IpL1xCzpu

The fact that Chelsea had Eden Hazard handing out two assists came in handy to accomplish this feat, given the influence Hazard has had with the Blues in the 2018-19 campaign.
Eden Hazard has now been directly involved in more goals (15) than any other player in the Premier League this season.

Regarding Pep Guardiola, facing the Blues in league games has turned out to be quite complicated. No team in the world can brag about beating the Spaniard more times than Chelsea has in league games, proving that the former Barcelona boss is not comfortable when he faces the Blues.
CHL 2-0 MCI (FT) - First defeat of Manchester City in the Premier League 2018-19. Liverpool is the new leader and only undefeated. Chelsea is one of the few clubs in the world against which Guardiola has won less times (3) than those he has lost (4).
