Real Madrid is expected to rest a few of its key players ahead of their UEFA Champions League semi-final second leg clash with Bayern Munich. Zinedine Zidane’s men secured a 2-1 away win at the Allianz Arena on Wednesday and are very much on course to win the title for the third consecutive season and a record 13th time.

Having long-lost the domestic league to rivals Barcelona, the Spanish capital club aims to end their season on a high by putting all of their eggs in the UCL basket. Nevertheless, there is still the possibility for the Whites to make their campaign in the domestic league a bit more respectable.

A win for them will be a step in the right direction as it will cut down the point deficit between themselves and second-placed Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone’s men will subsequently take on Deportivo Alaves on Sunday to try and reinstate the gap.

With regards to the impending clash, vengeance will be the order of the day for a Real Madrid side whose Copa Del Rey objective was shuttered by Leganes back in January. Los Blancos crashed out at the quarter-final stage of the cup competition via a 2-2 aggregate scoreline.
