Barcelona come into this match fresh from their morale-boosting win over Athletic Bilbao in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday. Lionel Messi scored a sublime freekick in the second half to give the hosts a 4-3 win on aggregate in a highly entertaining clash.
Unlike their previous two games where they lost to Bilbao in the first leg of the Copa del Rey then drew with Villarreal, Barca played with some sense of urgency on Wednesday against Bilbao. And better still, the striking duo of MSN seem to have found their groove this year - they scored a goal each to hand Luis Enrique's side the much-needed win that confirmed their participation in the quarter-finals of the competition.

But in La Liga, Los Blaugrana need to pull up their socks. Luis Enrique recently admitted that their title hopes now depends on Real Madrid's performance in the next matches. This practically means that Barca have no choice but to keep winning while hoping that their bitter rivals will drop points along the way, and eventually catch up with them.
Even a draw for the defending champions at this stage seems like a defeat for the Catalan club. All said and done, Las Palmas should be pretty much like a walk in the park for the hosts.
