On Sunday, Arsenal saw their best chance of winning silverware this season go up in flames after falling to a shock 2-1 home defeat to Watford in the FA Cup.
The reigning champions, who won back-to-back cups in the last two seasons, still remain in the Champions League and Premier League; however, they are all but out of Europe and trail leaders Leicester by 8 points in England.
Arsene Wenger’s boys travel to Barcelona with a 2-0 deficit for Wednesday’s clash, with many debating whether the Frenchman will field a weaker squad in order to preserve his stars for Saturday’s all-important trip to Goodison Park.
Asked by a reporter in a press conference whether Wenger will cut his losses and rest key players in the Camp Nou tie (with the Gunners playing Everton three days later), Le Prof said:
“We want to make the impossible possible.”
