The Argentinean striker wants to return to his home country, but the Italian team may force him to live up to his contract. Should he stay or should he go if La Vecchia Signora wins on Saturday?

One of Juve's leaders, both on and off the pitch, is Carlos Tevez. Although misunderstood at times, the Argentinean striker has been one of the keys to La Vecchia Signora's strong run this season, where the team is just one win away of winning the treble. Much has been said about Tevez's future, and with the transfer season about to open, the question fills the air: Should Carlos Tevez leave the Serie A champions in order to return to his country? What would be his possible destinations, and how could Juve replace such an influential player? Here are a few views about what future holds for "El Apache".

He is still under contract with Juventus

Juve's director Giuseppe Marotta has stressed out that despite the former Manchester United player's reputation of changing teams indistinctively, the team hopes he will live up to his contract, which expires in 2016. Marotta believes they can still get some fine performances from Tevez for years to come, and they haven't planned a scenario in which he is not part of the team.

"There are no premises for interrupting his contract which expires in 2016.He has done reallly well, he has scored almost 40 goals in 57 appearances and at Juve we have been able to enjoy his extraordinary performances," Marotta said on May 4th.

Right now or later, Tevez wants to call it quits

Earlier this year, "El Apache" told the press he was not interested in extending his contract with the Italian champions, since he did not feel quite happy with what he was doing for the team.

"I'm not looking for an extension because I feel that's not the right move for me. I still have eighteen months to go, and I know it's complicated to leave when you are playing great football, but you have to enjoy whatever you do," Tevez stated.

Back in January, Boca Juniors' president Daniel Angelici met with the player. While Angelici wants to extend his stint as Boca's main man, if Tevez decided to go back with the team could boost his chances of winning the election. Everytime Tevez has been asked about this issue, he refuses to answer what he will do.

Should he stay, or should he go?

Although most fans have stated they would not like to see him go, it's clear that Tevez will wait until the end of the season to determine if he stays one more year playing in Italy, or if he concludes his relationship with La Vecchia Signora. Sources indicate he is keen on leaving the team if they beat Barcelona this Saturday, meaning that the UEFA Champions League could be his last game wearing the Bianconeri kit.
