As if things were not already bad enough for Liverpool, now their striker Daniel Sturridge may be out for the rest of the season. The Reds' boss confirmed the bad news on Monday morning during his press conference showing very low expectations of a possible return
"We'll see if he's going to be back this season or pre-season," Brendan Rodgers said.
Daniel's season may be over by now
It already wasn't as great of a season for Sturridge as it had been last year. Constant injuries have not allowed him to reach his full potential, and Liverpool's place in the standings is a clear reflection of that. In the 2013-2014 season he scored 24 goals in 33 games, now he has five goals in 18 games played.
"Its just been one of those seasons for him where it has been very unfortunate. We are going to have to monitor that day by day and see where he's at," Rodgers added.
Some think that the career of Liverpool's #15 may go downhill now
I think we've seen the best of Sturridge in a Liverpool shirt. His injuries are becoming a real concern.

Sturridge's injuries are becoming a serious problem for us. Need a quality consistent striker this summer. #lfc

The young player had already missed five months at the beginning of the year with a thigh injury plus England's Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania in March with a hip problem.
"When he's been fit he's been brilliant for the team. We need to get him back fit and consistently playing."
Liverpool is currently in fifth place with 58 points, seven points behind Manchester United in fourth. With 15 points still up for grabs, they do hold a chance to take the Red Devils down. From now until the end of the season they will visit Hull City, Chelsea and Stoke City. They will host Queen Park Rangers and Crystal Palace.
