In that time, Liverpool has ascended to sixth place on the table, a point behind their opponents and two shy of Manchester United for fourth place, the final Champions League qualifying spot. Manuel Pellegrini’s squad holds on to second place on the table with 55 points, trailing league leader Chelsea by five. Manchester City has not lost in their last four fixtures and need for co-lead leading scorer Sergio Agüero (tied with 17 goals with Diego Costa) to continue his hot scoring ways.
Arsenal last defeated Crystal Palace, 2-1, to climb to third on the table with 48 points. The Gunners of Arséne Wenger, who look to extend their winning ways, welcome Everton to Emirates Stadium. The Toffees of Roberto Martinez have lost only once in their previous four Premier League encounters, albeit while only scoring three goals in the same stretch.
