Uruguay's head coach Oscar Tabarez called up striker Luis Suarez for their National Team's friendly matches next week. Suarez, banned of any official match for four months after biting Italian defender Giorgio Chiellini, was authorized to play in friendly matches with his club and with his country's squad.
On the other hand, Tabarez decided not to call up PSG's Edinson Cavani, so he can get some rest after being injured and having played this week's UEFA Champions League match against Barcelona. Coach Tabarez also called up several young players such as Diego Rolan and Matias Corujo, who will be playing their second match for the Charruas. Uruguay will play against Saudi Arabia on October 10, continuing their Asian tour against Oman three days later.
After announcing Suarez's comeback with the National Team, The Uruguayan Football Association revealed Coach Tabarez signed a new contract for the next four years. Tabarez will try to lead Los Charruas to their fourth World Cup under his helm, having coached them in Italy 1990, South Africa 2010 and this year's World Cup.
On his new commitment, coach Tabarez told the press what will be their new focus:
"Obviously, we want to make a good run to earn a spot in Russia 2018. That has to be our biggest motivation. Since time is catching up on us, we want to do it with a new set of players, giving us more options for the future," Tabarez added.
