New Zealand National League geschiedenis, opzet, organisatie, media-aandacht

De New Zealand Men's National League (NZNL) is een amateurvoetbalcompetitie voor mannen en vormt de hoogste klasse binnen het Nieuw-Zeelandse voetbalsysteem. Opgericht in 2021, is de New Zealand National League de opvolger van de New Zealand Football Championship. De competitie wordt betwist door teams die zich kwalificeren vanuit hun regionale competities. Vier teams kwalificeren zich vanuit de Northern League, drie vanuit de Central League, en twee vanuit de nieuw opgerichte Southern League. De Auckland FC Reserves en Wellington Phoenix Reserves krijgen elk jaar automatisch een plek.

De regionale competities lopen van maart tot september, waarbij het aantal wedstrijden per competitie varieert. De kampioenschapsfase begint na de voltooiing van de regionale fase, waarbij elk team één keer tegen elkaar speelt, gevolgd door een grote finale. Elk seizoen kwalificeren twee clubs zich voor de OFC Champions League, de continentale competitie voor de regio Oceanië.
