Preview: Tottenham vs West Ham
Jose Mourinho's Spurs made a wobbly return to action in their first game since the Premier League resumed after the COVID-19 interruption as they were unable to pick up all three points against Manchester United last week. Their failure to hang on to their narrow 1-0 advantage means that the hosts come into this game winless in their last four games and presently sit in eighth spot, nine points behind fellow London rivals Chelsea who occupy the last Champions League berth.
It goes without saying that Spurs will be hoping to get back to winning ways in this upcoming fixture, and fortunately for them, perhaps, their opponents are in awful form. West Ham have won just one of their last five games and presently are in a dismal 17th place. The Hammers are barely hanging on to top flight status at the moment, as they are joint-tied with 18th-placed Burnley on points and 19th-placed Aston Villa is just one point behind.
Any further slip-ups will certainly see them slip right back into the bottom three and given that David Moyes's side have won just one of their last ten Premier League games, each and every single point between now and the end of this season will be absolutely vital to maintaing their top-flight status.
