As for Valencia, they are in a similar case, winning only once while drawing once and losing their other fixture. Unlike the Catalan giants, their victory came in their last game. In their last seven games, three have ended in victories while three were defeats (D1).

Team news

The biggest absentee from this game is Lionel Messi, who is yet to return from injury. The Argentine has not featured for the Blaugrana this season, missing all three of their opening games due to a calf injury. His availability for their opening Champions League game is even under doubt.

Of course, Valverde’s concerns don’t stop there are he also cannot call upon Samuel Umtiti or Ousmane Dembele, both of whom are on the sidelines. Luis Suarez is fit again and could feature in Saturday’s game.

As for the away side, they will likely continue with an attack of Kevin Gameiro and Rodrigo Moreno. Carlos Soler and Cristiano Piccini remain on the sidelines.
