The Premier League kick-off is right around the corner. Fans eagerly await the new season to begin, with Man United vs Leicester being the very first game of the upcoming campaign.
With the new season comes the opportunity to see the top six sides' big names take to the field. Each team boasts a trio that could steal the show in 2018/19. Here are our top picks.
Man City
Trio to watch: Fernandinho-De Bruyne-Silva
While De Bruyne returns from a tiring World Cup campaign, he remains one of the world's best playmaker and should continue his amazing run in England. Bernardo Silva, who hit top form towards the end of last season, could prove influential in midfield along Fernandinho and the Belgian.
Chelsea
Trio to watch: Kante-Kovacic-Jorginho
With either Giroud or Morata leading the Blues attack, their front three will be lacking. Instead, it is in the middle of the park where they should be most confident.
In Kante, Chelsea boasts one of the best midfielders in the world. He will now be joined by the promising Kovacic and the talented Jorginho, with the latter likely to be Sarri's source for creativity.
Arsenal
Trio to watch: Ozil-Aubameyang-Lacazette
In Lacazette and Ozil, Arsenal has two players with a point to prove after their underwhelming 2017-18 season. The latter knows he must give it his all after retiring from Germany, as he must rid inconsistency from his performances.
Due to the Gunners' failure to sign a winger, Aubameyang will likely start on the flank. However, the Gabonese forward can take inspiration from Mohamed Salah and score tons of goals from the wing.
Speaking of Salah…
Liverpool
Trio to watch: Mane-Salah-Firmino
This attacking trio did extremely well last season, terrorizing defenses in England and Europe alike. The Egyptian has shaken off his shoulder injury and showed his brilliance during the pre-season. With them, Liverpool has a great chance of winning the title.
Man United
Trio to watch: Matic-Fred-Pogba
In Fred, Man United has a box-to-box midfielder who will be everywhere on the pitch. However, all eyes will be on Paul Pogba this season. After winning the World Cup, everyone is eager to see whether the Frenchman can establish a deadly chemistry with his midfield team-mates to return to his best at Old Trafford.
Tottenham
Trio to watch: Eriksen-Alli-Kane
Since Tottenham did not sign any player over the summer, they will look to last season's trio for inspiration. It should be noted that they were and will likely deadly this season, with Alli and Kane being feed by the creative Danish playmaker.
Which trio will steal the show in 2018/19?
Our bet is on Mane-Salah-Firmino. While any of the other aforementioned trios could spark the Premier League, the Liverpool attacking trio is one that could end the club's long wait for the English top-flight.
