Match Preview

The Super Eagles will seek to gain momentum with a win over Czech Republic ahead of their first Group D game against Croatia on June 16. Gernot Rohr’s men fell to a disappointing 2-1 defeat in their previous friendly encounter with England and as a result, will need to up their game if they fancy their chances of staging an impressive campaign at the World Cup.

For the upcoming clash, they will once again count in the prowess of the likes of Alex Iwobi – who got the consolation goal against the Three Lions – as well as Victor Moses, Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho and skipper of the side Mikel Obi.

Czech Republic, on the other hand, will only aim to give their African opponents a stiff competition in Wednesday’s encounter as they will be amiss at the summer’s competition. The European nation could not secure a spot at Russia considering they finished third behind Northern Ireland and Germany in the qualifiers.

That withstanding, Karel Jarolim’s men will have to up their game if they seek to give the Nigerians a tough run for their money. They enter the upcoming clash on the back of a 4-0 defeat to Australia and have recorded only one win in their last three outings.
