Australia are making their fifth World Cup appearance this summer after featuring at the 1974, 2006, 2010, and 2014 editions. However, the Socceroos haven't cleared the group stage since 2006 and face a tough task to get out of a quartet with European heavyweights France as well as ambitious sides Denmark and Peru.

When is the 2018 FIFA World Cup?
This year's edition of the famous quadrennial tournament will be played between June 14, 2018 and July 16, 2018.
2018 FIFA World Cup broadcasting rights in Australia
Optus Sport will cover all 64 of this summer's World Cup games, including Australia's group stage clashes with Peru, Denmark, and France. Notably, for the first time in history, Australian fans will have a chance to see the Socceroos in action during prime-time as their game against France will be streamed at 20:00 AEST on Saturday, June 16th.
Another option to catch some of the games will be through SBS, which will provide coverage of all three of Australia's group stage games and 25 of the 64 games overall.

If you're watching the games through the traditional method, the way to go will be either Optus Sport or SBS Live. Both will provide coverage of all of Australia's three games against France, Denmark, and Peru. 2018 FIFA World Cup match times
To be honest, Russian time is not exactly the best for fans who are based in Australia. There are some games that kick off at 5:00 AEST. Yes, that's at five in the morning.
The opening match, featuring hosts Russia and Saudi Arabia will start at 1:00 AEST. Same goes for the final, so be prepared to stay up late, as it will begin at 1:00 AEST on Monday, July 16th.
Overall, kick off times for the majority of fixtures will be between 22:00 AEST and 4:00 AEST. Not exactly perfect for people who have to go to work or summer university classes, but viewers will have to make do.
