Man City is dominating rival Man United this season. The Citizens ended the Red Devils 40-game unbeaten home run to move 11-points ahead of Mourinho’s side, much to the disappointment of the 20-time Premier League champion.
And on Tuesday, Guardiola’s side added insult to injury by trolling one of the Old Trafford players. The mockery came via Twitter, as City posted a picture of Leroy Sane in training.
The German youngster could be seen training but was almost hidden by fog. Man City’s French Twitter account posted that picture of the attacker and challenged their followers to guess who he was.
“If you find out who is hidden by the fog, you are unplayable...” they wrote. Due to similar hairstyles, one Twitter user confused Sane for Man United ace Marouane Fellaini and thus guessed the Belgian midfielder.
The Citizens responded: “No, he is a football player.” That reply amassed thousands of likes and trolls while trolling a key player of their city rival.
The rise of Man City has led to a more heated rivalry between the Manchester giants in recent seasons, with tempers boiling over in their recent encounter earlier this season. The two teams were involved in a tunnel brawl after United’s loss which left Mourinho doused in milk and Mikel Arteta with a cut.
Both teams will be in action this midweek, as they gear up for the Carabao Cup quarter-finals. City travels to Leicester on Tuesday before Mourinho’s side visits Bristol City in the last 8.
