On Monday, the first manager of the 2017/18 season was sacked in the Premier League. After an awful start to the new campaign, Crystal Palace made the decision to fire Frank de Boer early in the season.
The Dutchman, despite his success in Eredivisie, failed miserably in the English top-flight. He only took over the job from Sam Allardyce during the summer, but his failure to deliver beautiful football as promised cost him his job.
The Eagles’ last game saw them lose 1-0 against Burnley. That loss left them in 19th spot, tied with last-placed West Ham, as they remained without a win this season. That proved to be the final straw for club chairman Steve Parish, who later announced the manager’s departure.
De Boer’s sacking has seen him set two awful Premier League records. The Dutchman, who was only in charge for four league games, broke the record for the shortest reign as manager in the English top-flight. He overtook Les Reed’s record of seven games.
Yes, De Boer was only in charge for four games. The former Ajax boss recorded zero wins during his time with the Eagles. In addition, he set another record for becoming the first Premier League manager whose team failed to score a single goal whilst in charge.

Crystal Palace are goalless after four games, the only team yet to find the back of the net this season. De Boer is gone before he could even celebrate a goal with the Selhurst Park fans.
