The return of the Premier League saw exciting games be played out. Man City welcomed Liverpool to the Etihad, with the hosts winning 5-0 against their 10-man opponents. Arsenal and Tottenham returned to winning ways, beating Bournemouth and Everton respectively, whilst Man United were held to a 2-2 draw at Stoke City.
Romelu Lukaku, with four goals, remains this season’s top scorer. Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with five assists, has been the Assist King so far this season. Man United lead in the standings, but are level on points with Man City and are a point ahead of Chelsea. Here are five interesting stats from Matchday 4.
1. Aguero writes his name in history
Sergio Aguero scored the opening goal in the 5-0 win over Liverpool. It was an unforgettable win, but the match will be more memorable for the Argentine for his strike.
It made him the highest-scoring non-European player in the English top-flight’s history, with 124 goals. Furthermore, he needed 195 fewer appearances to break Dwight Yorke’s record.

Against Everton, Harry Kane scored a brace. Although his second goal was more impressive, it was the Englishman’s first strike that took him to the 100-goal mark with Tottenham.
