LiveSoccerTV takes a look at Cameroon's squad and fixtures for the 2017 Confederations Cup as they go in search of a second major title this year.

Earlier this year, Cameroon shocked Africa by beating the continent’s biggest sides to lift the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations title. The Indomitable Lions beat the most successful side Egypt 2-1 in the final to lift the title.

Seven European-based players refused to take part in the competition, but a modest squad won the title nonetheless. The African champions now head to Russia for the FIFA Confederations Cup with a near-identical squad.

Cameroon’s Confederations Cup record

This won’t be Cameroon’s first time at the FIFA Confederations Cup. They have appeared in two previous tournaments, with their third attempt proving to be difficult – the Indomitable Lions begin their campaign against Chile on Sunday before facing Australia and Germany.

Cameroon’s current form

The African champions head into this tournament on the back of a 4-0 thrashing at the hands of Colombia. However, it was only their second defeat since winning the AFCON title (P4, W2).

The man on the tactician’s bench

Hugo Broos, appointed manager of Cameroon in February 2016, did wonders for the national side a year after receiving the boss. After seven players turned down call-ups for the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, he led an inexperienced team that everyone expected to crash out early.

Broos has had problems with the association, mainly over management and funding, and thus hinted at a possible exit. Since then, he has reaffirmed his commitment to Cameroon and is ready to led them to another major tournament once more.
