Still, with Manchester City crushing Crystal Palace, Liverpool will need to ensure they can re-claim third spot - which guarantees them an automatic Champions League spot - by doing likewise against Southampton.
However, the hosts will be missing a few players due to injury. Saido Mane, Jordan Henderson, and Danny Ings are all still out. Meanwhile, key man Philippe Coutinho is in doubt for this fixture and will have to be evaluated close to kick-off.

Southampton interestingly, are a side who apparently have done very well on Sunday. Only two sides - Manchester United and Tottenham - have won more games than the Saints' seven on this day. Claude Puel's side has also managed to shut out Liverpool in their prior three meetings this season and certainly will be relishing the chance to make it a fourth occasion as they meet on Sunday. However, they will hope that Manolo Gabbiadini, who started off life well following his move from Napoli, will be able to re-find his shooting boots sooner rather than later.
