Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho does not know how to mince his words. The Portuguese tactician is well-known for his open-minded kind of talk especially when it comes to pressing issues.
This has happpened so many times, most recently during the club's press conference ahead of their Premier League tie against Sunderland on Monday. And there was no way the ex-Chelsea boss could avoid talking about the elephant in the room - Morgan Schneiderlin's exit rumours. When asked about the reports linking the French midfielder out of Old Trafford in January, Mou confirmed that he would release the player if he received solid offers. He said;
''Yeah (when asked if he'd consider the offers). He is a great professional, fantastic boy, very honest, very open and opens his heart a couple of times.
"My answer is simple: if he's playing regular with me I have the right to say no way. If he's not playing regular I have no right to tell a player that wants to be happy -– to say to a player you're going nowhere.
"My answer was, if the offer is right and our board thinks that the offer is a good offer in relation to the quality of a very good player like Morgan, I would not stop him to go."
Schneiderlin joined Man Utd under former manager Louis Van Gaal for 27 million pounds but has been struggling to find play-time under Jose Mourinho. The 27-year-old has emerged as a transfer target for Premier League side West Bromwich Albion, alongside teammate Memphis Depay as they seek for first-team football. This season, the Euro 2016 runner up has made only eight appearances for the Red Devils in all competitions.
