The Mexican striker criticized his countrymen for spreading word about his relationship with coach Juan Carlos Osorio and some of his team-mates.

Mexican striker Javier Hernández didn't hold back when talking about some of his countrymen, as he blasted away some furious comments against some Mexican media outlets.

"Chicharito" vetoed some reporters from his country due to harsh criticism against him. As some called him to be a "diva", others published news about a supposedly bad relationship with El Tri's coach, Juan Carlos Osorio. Last night, Mexican TV Station TDN revealed excerpts of an interview with the former Manchester United striker, in which he vented all of his frustration.

"I hate being compared. It's happened ever since I got my first chance in the Mexican top flight. When I was on the rise, people compared me to Omar Bravo (Chivas' all-time top scorer). Then, I started playing with El Tri and all comparisons escalated. What's the obsession of comparing myself to Raúl Jiménez (Benfica's striker) or Miguel Layún(Porto's defender)? All we want to do is to kick the ball around, and you guys (Mexican media) try to create the wrong atmosphere between us," Hernández stated.

"Chicharito" needs only one more goal to become Mexico's joint top-scorer alongside former Bolton Wanderers' striker Jared Borgetti.

The former Real Madrid player blamed his country's culture for trying to pin everyone against each other instead of cooperating for the greater good.

"Unfortunately, these comments are usually taken as the truth by some of my countrymen. Some people just want the best for you, but the vast majority tries to keep you down. Sometimes, Mexicans play down your achievements because they're jealous. A Mexican's worst enemy is most of the time, one of his countrymen," he added.

Before the interview concluded, "Chicharito" denied having snubbed El Tri during the recent international break, and once again blamed the media for spreading rumors about a bad relationship with Mexico's coach, Juan Carlos Osorio.

"I never asked not to be called up. Coach Osorio granted me a week off so I could take care of things, be with my girlfriend, and such stuff. I'll always be available to represent my country, and people out there should know that everyone playing abroad has the same idea," Hernández concluded.

The Mexican star will try to keep his good streak going with Bayer Leverkusen, as he's risen to the top of the Bundesliga scoring charts with five goals.
