Olivier Giroud was the subject of ridicule on social media following France's 2-1 win over the Republic of Ireland on Sunday.

The Arsenal forward was trending on Twitter following his dramatic dive moments before a free-kick that had been awarded to France. He seemed to have been pushed a little bit by a defender from the opposition at the wall before the freekick but his reaction was quite hilarious and exaggerated.

As a result, football fans on Twitter who were not so amused by the incident started trolling the 29-year-old.
