Leicester City forward Jamie Vardy scored his first Euro 2016 goal for England and leveled the game for the Three Lions.

Many have doubted Roy Hodgson and his choice to start Harry Kane over Jamie Vardy in their opening match against Russia. However, the 68-year-old manager made a strong statement bringing on Vardy in the 46th minute and he succeeded to impress.

The Premier League striker netted the goal against Group B rivals Wales with only his third touch of the game. After watching the thrilling 1-1 draw with Russia from the bench, Hodgson brought Vardy into the game and the England international instantly scored, proving he deserves a spot in the starting line-up.

His goal seemed controversial at first with many claiming it was offside and Twitter quickly reacted.

Despite many calling the goal offside, Ashley Williams got the last touch of the ball making Vardy's equalizer valid.
