And the Reds boss is confident of landing the German ace for approximately £20m.

Sky Sports have dropped a transfer news revelation which will mostly probably please Liverpool fans, claiming manager Jurgen Klopp could be reunited with a former BVB superstar this summer.

According to the British news outlet, the Normal One is confident of signing Bayern Munich ace Mario Gotze, with the midfielder having grown dejected and frustrated with life at the Allianz Arena after falling down the pecking order.

The 23-year-old World Cup winner who scored the winning goal in the 2014 final rose to stardom during his days at the Signal Iduna Park under the current Reds boss.

Mario quickly became one of football’s most promising talents after making 99 appearances for BVB – scoring 22 goals – since making his debut at Die Schwarzgelben as an 18-year-old back in 2010.

However, he joined their rivals Bayern Munich for £31.5m in 2013 and has featured for die Roten for three campaigns, although his playing time has been diminishing by the season.

Gotze was a key player in his first two seasons under Pep Guardiola, scoring 27 times, but has struggled to find games this term, making only one start since October.

As a result, the player is believed to be unsettled and unhappy with the reigning Bundesliga champions, as Klopp looks eager to reunite with the player whom he helped produce.

The German tactician is confident that a fee in the region of £20m will be enough to land Gotze, as only one year remains on Mario’s Bayern Munich deal.

However, a big factor in the midfielder’s future will depend on incoming manager Carlo Ancelotti, who will take over Pep Guardiola once the Spaniard departs for Man City, and whether Gotze fits in the Italian boss’ plans.

The Mannschaft ace is currently with the national side, as Joachim Low's boys prepare for Tuesday's epic friendly tie with fellow European giants Italy.
