London giants Arsenal look set to move swiftly and kick start their January transfer window business early, with Mohamed Elneny inches away from official becoming a Gooner.
According to ESPN, sources close to the club have revealed that officials of the north London club have been sent to Switzerland to finalize the deal to bring the Egyptian midfielder to England.

Elneny, who currently plies his trade with Swiss giants Basel, has attracted Gunners boss Arsene Wenger’s attention having helped the club to three consecutive Swiss Super League titles.
The 23-year-old is rumored to have already undergone and passed a medical; however, complications regarding a work permit and international clearance put the deal on hold.
With the club’s officials now in Switzerland, though, a four-and-a-half year deal worth £7m is expected to go through soon.
Bebbis have already confirmed discussion over a St. Jakob-Park exit for the holding midfielder have occurred, with team-mate Albian Ajeti wishing Elneny good luck ahead of the Egyptian ace’s Emirates Stadium switch.
Elneny, though not as high-profile as the many other players Arsenal have been linked with, will add much needed cover in midfield, with the English Premier League leaders short in number due to the injuries to Santi Cazorla, Jack Wilshere, and Francis Coquelin.
It is the latter of the three that Elneny is expected to fill in for, with Wenger’s boys suffering without that all-important midfield cover in front of the back-four.
It remains to be seen whether Elneny will merely be cover to the sidelined Coquelin, or an upgrade to the French holding midfielder.
